At the Conference of the Air Force Association’s Air, Space & Cyber held in Maryland (in National Harbor) a new official uniform was unveiled. It is the new uniform intended for the American Space Force, unveiled directly by General John Raymond on Sept. 21. The head of the Space Operations division showed the cameras the prototype of the new uniform intended for military use, causing some astonishment among those present. In fact, the uniform has a singular aspect, it remembers for some ways something already seen in the science fiction films.
The new Space Force uniform
The uniform features gray pants and a dark blue jacket. The peculiarity of the jacket is definitely in the choice of the buttoning. In fact, it has six silver buttons arranged diagonally across the chest. The same number of buttons, according to some, would represent the order of the Space Force (sixth military branch) within the various military divisions of the United States of America.
Space Force like in the most famous sci-fi
What makes the new uniform even closer to science fiction is the presence of a detail on each of the buttons. These in fact bear the official logo of the Space Force, a logo that in turn brings to mind the well-known symbol of Star Trek, one of the most famous sci-fi series. In both cases we have what could be a delta-shaped spaceship, in the company of stars and orbiting bodies. In short, the new Space Force uniform projects directly into the world of sci-fi, calling attention to scenes from Battlestar Galactica as well as Star Trek. Meanwhile, the Artemis mission and man’s return to the moon is scheduled for 2024, check out the new spacesuit design!
here.At the Air Force Association’s Air, Space & Cyber Conference, more news was revealed. The training uniform intended for theGuardians, as Space Force members are called, was also unveiled. The PT (physical training) uniform is currently undergoing testing and consists of a gray T-shirt and black shorts.
New license plates for military ranks
At the same time, the Space Force announced the creation of new plaques for the various enlisted ranks. The new insignia represents a white delta surrounded by a dark blue hexagon, again representing the sixth branch occupied by the Space Force. There are also horizontal white stripes across the hexagon, indicating the higher ranks.
As for the combat uniform, however, this was unveiled in 2020. In this case nothing surprising or sci-fi. The Guardians in fact wear a camouflage suit, no reference to Interstellar or Star Wars for a traditional and not very exciting choice.
The formation of the Space Force
The Space Force of the United States of America (USSF) is founded in December 2019 as an integral part of the Air Force Department. As mentioned earlier, the USSFconstitutes the sixth branch of the so-called American uniformed services, along with respectively: United States Army, United States Marine Corps, United States Navy, United States Air Force, United States Coast Guard, United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, and National Oceanic and Armospheric Administration Commissioned Corps. The USSF is thus a military service that organizes, prepares, and equips space forces in a manner that protects the nation and its allies, and provides space capabilities to the armed forces.
